At least seven top commanders and other members of the Niger State Joint Security Task Force that suffered injuries in the weapon fight with some gunmen on Saturday in Galadiman Kogo, Shiroro Local Government Area of the state, are said to be undergoing medical treatment in Minna.

Nevertheless, four freshly hired local vigilantes working in communities in the location were eliminated during the fight.

The gunmen, thought to be members of Boko Haram, numbering about 50, attacked the camp of the security job force in Galadiman Kogo community on bikes on Saturday around 3:00 pm and engaged the group in a gun duel that claimed the lives of numerous locals running for their dear lives.
