Authorities foil banditsâ $ attack, rescue 20 abducted victims in Niger

The Police in Niger State have foiled an outlaw attack on Nasko in the Magama Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the state spokesperson on Sunday said that ratings of outlaws were neutralised, a large herd of cattle recovered and 20 abducted victims released.

He mentioned that the terrorists and bandits assaulted some villages around Nasko in Magama on Saturday and rustled a great deal of livestock.

He included that the police sent for reinforcement and military operatives and vigilantes took part combing the location.

He explained that a two-hour intense gun fight later occurred on the Ibeto cattle route which the hoodlums were trying to get away with the cattle.

Items recovered at the scene consisted of one AK-47 publication with 30 rounds of live ammo, 7 telephone handsets and one Honda bike.

The spokesman solicited the cooperation of locals in ridding the state of banditry and other crimes.
