Soldiers dislodge IPOB/ESN stronghold where invalid sit-at-home is being declared

The Nigerian Army states its troops have actually removed a stronghold of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network in Lilu, a boundary town between Imo and Anambra States.

Nwachukwu stated that the “infamous fortress” situated at Lilu forest, Ihiala regional council location of Anambra, was dislodged on Monday in a joint operation with other security companies after a fire battle.

According to him, Lilu, was hitherto known to be utilized as an operational base of the proscribed group.

He added that the soldiers recovered 10 pump action shotguns, 2 locally produced guns, one revolver pistol, rounds of 7.62 mm unique, live cartridges, machetes and IPOB flags.

Other products recovered were smart phones, laptops along with lots of hazardous weapons.

“The operation was collectively conducted by troops of 82 Division, Nigerian Navy, 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police.”
