Ukraine: Russia threatens Finland, Sweden over strategies to sign up with NATO

Amid the military operations in Ukraine, Russia has actually warned Finland and Sweden against signing up with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO.

The representative for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova stated there would be severe military and political effects if Finland and Sweden choose to join NATO.

Both countries share borders with Russia in the Arctic Circle.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Zakharova warned that mooting the idea of NATO would be detrimental to both nations.
