Nnamdi Kanu not terrorist, Nigeria’s issue– Ohanaeze chieftain on FG’s terrorism charges

Chuks Ibegbu, a previous Deputy Publicity Secretary of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Tuesday, insisted that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is not a terrorist.

Ibegbu noted that Kanu is not a terrorist and not the problem of Nigeria.

He revealed this to DAILY POST in reaction to the Federal Government’s fresh terrorism charges levelled against Kanu.

Remember that the Federal Government had submitted fresh terrorism charges against the IPOB leader yesterday.

Following his rearrest in June 2021 and re-arraignment in October before Justice Binta Nyako-led Federal High Court in Abuja, the IPOB leader had pleaded not guilty to the very first sets of terrorism charges brought against him.

Nevertheless, Ibegbu noted that Kanu peacefully carried out his agitation up until the Federal Government and security representatives started killing his followers.

According to Ibegbu: “I have constantly said that Nnamdi Kanu’s case ought to be resolved politically. The Federal Government should not make a mountain out of a molehill. The terrorists are Boko Haram, killer ranchers, and outlaws in the North.

“I repeat that Kanu is not a terrorist. Bear in mind that he was doing his agitation quietly until Nigeria security agents started eliminating his people and followers, and he chose to safeguard his people. Do you understand the number of his people were massacred by Nigerian security agents?

“Let Buhari launch this male and stop developing unneeded hoopla. Nnamdi Kanu is not Nigeria’s issue. He did not trigger the devaluation and quagmire we are presently facing in Nigeria.”
