Boko Haram: No attack, abduction of policeman in Gwoza– Senator Ndume

Senator representing Borno South in the red chamber of the National Assembly and Chairman Committee on Army, Mohammed Ali Ndume on Friday stated there was no attack at the Police Training School in Gwoza as alleged and reported in the media.

Ndume, who comes from Gwoza, stated if there was such, he would remain in the called his people would have contacted us to inform him.

Reports had actually declared lots of policeman were abducted after Boko Haram members overran the Police Training School in Limankara town about 20km from the primary Gwoza town. The Senator said the reports being flowed are phony.

His words, “It is not true that some police officers were kidnapped in Limankara, In fact, there are no policemen in Limankara, we only have military troops/battalion in Limankara who are up and doing, and there is no attack of such nature. I will explain the reports as unwarranted and false.

“I have actually been receiving daily updates on the efforts soldiers are doing to protect Limankara and other neighborhoods in Gwoza, and I am much amazed.

“The troops in Limankara are not only stationed in one place, we have them at the deserted Police Mobile Training School, some hills around those axes with advanced security electronic cameras and equipment to find terrorist movement.

“So as far as I am worried and as Chairman Senate Committee on Army who is privileged to have security details all over the country, Limankara community and other surrounding towns are serene and calm with Military Battalion stationed at tactical locations who have actually been squashing getting away Boko Haram insurgents crossing from Sambisa forest to the Mandara mountains of Cameroun on everyday basis,” he said.

On The Other Hand, DAILY POST gathered that the Borno State Police Command will soon discuss the supposed attack to clear the air.
