One soldier and an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were stated to have actually been shot dead by bandits who assaulted a military base in Shinfida neighborhood, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The bandits were stated to have actually stormed the base by 10pm Tuesday night shooting sporadically.

They apparently burnt down two patrol cars and used another patrol car to convey food products from neighbouring towns during the attack.

The NSCDC spokesperson in the state, DSC Muhammad Abdara confirmed the attack in addition to the casualties.
