Kebbi govt develops committee to demarcate NELBA farming, grazing area in Suru, Bagudo LGAs

Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has actually set up a 17-member committee to demarcate the Nelba farming/grazing location in Suru and Bagudo Local Governments Areas of the state

Babale Umar Yauri, Secretary to the State Government, in a statement on Tuesday named Ahmed Usman Bunza as Chairman, while the acting Director of EXCO as secretary of the committee.

He included that the committee has its members drawn from numerous MDAs, traditional institutions, groups and security firms in the state.

The committee consists of Surveyor-General, Kebbi State, Chairmen of Bagudo and Suru Local Government, State Chairman Miyatti Allah, State Secretary Miyatti Allah, Representatives of Police Commissioner, State Director of Security, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Others are the Ministry of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Dan Hakimi, Hon. Umar Maigandi Dakingari, District Head of Illo and Aljannare.

The statement stated the regards to reference for the committee is to refer and get to all previous reports on any move to demarcate the location for the purpose of farming/grazing by the authorities.

The statement added that the committee will also check out ways to ensure amicable and final settlement of any sticking around problem of farmers/Fulani dispute over the area.

“It will also make any beneficial recommendation(s) that will ensure sustainable peace and advancement of the location.” He said

The committee has three weeks from the date of consultation to finish its project and submit its report to the State Government.
