Disturbed by the wave of killings arising from cult clashes in some areas of the Osun State, the state government has actually promised that it will stop at absolutely nothing to ensure those committing violence are made to spend for their actions along with their sponsors.

This followed current circumstances of cult-related violence in Ilesa and Ede towns.

It also ensured residents of the state that the different security companies are working together to nab the perpetrators and deal with them according to the law.

According to the statement, “The present spate of killings in Ilesha and Ede are cult-related, and the security architecture of the state has actually briefed the Governor. As security techniques are not concerns to be talked about in the media, the federal government can not divulge information of what its operatives are doing.

“We can only ensure people and homeowners of Osun that whatever is being done and will continue to be done within the ambit of the law to nab those who are arming youths to foment difficulty in the state.

“We prompt for calm in the impacted communities as efforts are on to smoke out the criminals of violence together with their sponsors.

“Let us also stress here that cultism is a criminal offense, and the security apparatus along with the Judiciary will implement the law to the letter to deal with any person discovered culpable in the violence going on in Ilesa and Ede, or any other part of the state.

“Intelligence reports also reveal that those funding these activities are the factor the cultists are emboldened.

“In Osun, nobody who runs nasty of the law will be spared. A criminal is a criminal, whether young or old, poor or highly placed.

“This is a final warning, particularly to guardians and moms and dads, to check their stubborn wards and children prior to the law catches up with them.

“Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will spare no effort or cost to protect Osun, and cultists will not be permitted to set up their violent shops here”, the statement checked out.
