Why DSS DG should be charged for contempt– Nnamdi Kanu’s attorney

Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, pro-Biafra agitator, Ifeanyi Ejiofor has urged the Federal High Court, Abuja, to charge the Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, of alleged contempt of court.

Ejiofor said the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court ought to endorse the contempt charges submitted against the DSS DG.

He kept in mind that failure to endorse the charges would mean the court is taking sides with the secret cops.

Ejiofor made the call while regreting the refusal of the DSS to enable Kanu access to his legal representatives two times.

In a declaration he issued, Ejiofor said the action of the secret police was contrary to the court judgment.

According to Ejiofor: “With the foregoing, if the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, stops working and/or refuses to endorse the relevant contempt forms filed against the Director-General of the DSS for the gross disobedience to favorable orders of court, as he has performed in the past, then, it will end up being obvious to the world that the Registrar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, is actively protecting the contemnors.

“Orders of court need to be complied with to the letter and should not just be respected, however need to be treated with sanctity. Unfortunately, this has actually ended up being a joke taken too far!”

Remember that Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor had divulged that the DSS prevented them from having access to their client two times.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is being apprehended by the DSS.

Kanu has been in detention after he was repatriated to Nigeria from Kenya.

He is facing charges bordering on terrorism before Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court.
