Panic in Imo community as cultists supposedly kill man

There was panic in Akalovo, Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State on Sunday as locals awakened to the corpse of a young man supposedly slaughtered on Saturday night in what looked like a cult war.

The gory sight of the boy lying lifeless at the time of filing this report caused residents to run for safety, with numerous thinking it was an initiation attempt as the area is stated to be a den of cultists who run without obstacle.

A local, Chinazo Ilechukwu while speaking with journalists stated, “The young man lying lifeless was slaughtered last night at Akalovo Emekuku Owerri in what appeared like a cult war.

“The cops department at Toronto Uratta has been presumably contacted but they are yet to respond.

“There is panic in the neighborhood as the location is said to be a den of cultists who operate without hindrance.

When DAILY POST checked out the scene of the incident on Sunday early morning, homeowners were seen scuttling for security stating we don’t understand what is happening once again.

They prompted the government and security firms to rise to the event by providing adequate security to make it possible for Nigerians tackle their everyday activities without worry.

Numerous homeowners insist that cultists were behind the killing, the Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam when notified thanked journalists ensuring that he would alert the DPO right away.
