Strike: Beg Federal Government to Fulfil Agreements With Us– ASUU to Nigerians

ASUU Chairman, University of Ibadan, Professor Ayo Akinwole on Tuesday urged Nigerians to ask the federal government fulfill its part of the contract it signed with the union to avoid looming strike action.

Akinwole speaking quickly after a congress of the union in Ibadan, appealed to Nigerians to dominate on the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari to implement the arrangements reached with ASUU in 2009.

Flanked by other executive members of the union, Akinwole stated it was now apparent that today administration was paying lip service to education at the detriment of kids of the bad.

The ASUU chairman explained that there will be no requirement for a strike if the federal government has been loyal.

He stated the union just wants the government to be devoted.

“We wish to inform you of the antics of the federal government. The government has actually not been satisfying arrangements because 2009.

“The federal government has been foot-dragging. The federal government is yet to fulfil its contracts.

“We are now informing the public that the federal government is playing with a time bomb.

“We are now contacting the people to prevail on the Nigerian government to honour agreements with ASUU.

“If the federal government fulfils its contracts, there will be no need for a strike.

“What we are saying is that the federal government should be loyal”.
