Kaduna: Eleven confirmed eliminated, others injured as bandits attack Zangon Kataf

The Kaduna State Government says security forces have confirmed that 11 people were killed in an attack at Kurmin Masara location of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State by shooters in the early hours these days (Sunday).

The state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, in a declaration stated soldiers of the Nigerian Air Force Special Forces, who responded to distress signal from the location, likewise fell into an ambush as they mobilized to the scene of the attack.

The declaration further described that the troops cleared the ambush and reached the basic area, along with troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH).

The statement stated since 4:30 PM, 11 homeowners were confirmed eliminated and some caused with gunshot injuries.

Those killed, according to the statement, were Elizabeth Ayuba, Veronica Auta, Bege Daniel, Kephas Waje, Promise Jacob and Damaris istifanus.

Others included, Hauwa Joshua, Dogara Gambo, Lidia Ishaya, Michael Achi and Gabriel Michael.

The statement discussed that over 30 homes and residential or commercial properties were burnt in the attack.

It specified that the injured were evacuated for treatment, while search-and-rescue operations and pursuit of the enemies remain in progress on different fronts.
