Arewa group needs identity of Gulak’s killers, tasks IGP on ethical policing

The union of Arewa Civil Society Organizations (CACSO), on Sunday, contacted the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Alkali Usman Baba, to reveal the identities of those behind the gruesome murder of Ahmed Gulak, 8 months earlier.

The union likewise demanded the real identity of the Police officers who masked themselves to kidnap Chief Uche Nwosu in a Gestapo style from an Anglican Church service in Imo State, in December 2021.

DAILY POST reported that Gulak, a previous Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was assassinated in Owerri, Imo State capital on 30th May 2021, by “unidentified gunmen”.

In a press statement offered to newsman Sunday morning and signed by Dr. Haruna Jagindi and Amb. Danjuma Shetima, on behalf of the union; the group stated it was essential to let the world understand “of the actions and inactiveness of some components within the authorities that are constituting themselves as a danger to the residents of this country”.

They stated the murder of Gulak was painful to all Nigerians, particularly, Northerners, whose renowned boy he was, including that the nation required him now, to “conquer its myriad of challenges”.

“That the true identity of those who assassinated Honourable Ahmed Gulak need to be revealed, including their sponsors and their intentions, since reports validate that Gulak was not the only resident of the automobile when he was assassinated”, the group stated.
