The gold stone mine, which is stated to be some feet deep, collapsed on Wednesday eliminating 6 while other miners escaped.
On a see to the site of the event, the Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Ada Charles Egwu, decried the level of unlawful mining activities in the location and called on security agents to increase security on the location to prevent such incident, Vanguard reports.
Egwu expressed her unhappiness towards the death of the young men who lost their lives due to the regrettable incident in a quote to earn a living.
She said, “The purpose of this check out is to assess the activities of the prohibited miners and likewise see for myself the collapsed website that took the lives of six boys so early in the year.

The Council Chairman mentioned that she would set up an investigative panel to determine the needed action to be taken and contacted security agencies to seal off the website and arrest anybody who flouts the order to stay away from the mine.
