It was learnt that their suspected killer, a 31-year-old Samson Eze had actually separately enticed his victims– all similarly known to him– from their office as transportation workers in Jos to his older brother’s house in Bassa where he had eliminated and hidden their bodies.

Eze also carted away their 2 tricycles and one motorcycle as he planned to offer them off to sponsor his flight out of the state.

The Divisional Police Officer of Bassa LGA, James Yakubu, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

Yakubu stated that they were incited to serve as quickly as the case was reported by the relative who had, mistakenly, made a discovery of the bodies at his home over the weekend.

The DPO added that while the bodies were being recovered and required to the mortuary, the suspect had been detained and moved to the State CID for additional examination.

Found at the disposal of the suspect, together with the looted cycles of his victims, were complete military regalia and weapon of attack, all of which had been withdrawn from his home.

Discussing the situation also, the Chairman of Bassa LGA, Stephen Andy Igmala, expressed shock on the undisturbed operation of the suspect regardless of the time-bound restraint put on bikes and tricycle operators in Jos.

According to him, the suspect was exposed to have conveyed his victims in between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 in the evening as against the designated time for tricycle and bike motion in Jos.

In cutting the situation, nevertheless, the chairman quickly enforced a similar restraint on tricycle and motorcycle operators in Bassa to be effected daily from 8pm.

He added that he would be working carefully with the vigilante groups and the FTF to install checkpoints and keep an eye on the implementation of the order.

While regreting the hold-up in obtaining the bodies, households of the victims at the scene, made a consentaneous protest for due justice at the end of everything.
