Former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has discussed his reasons for going to previous Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, saying, he went to get his blessings.

Tinubu specified this after a closed-door meeting with the older statesman in his Hilltop country home in Minna, Niger State.

Responding to newsmen on the purpose of his visit to IBB, the previous Governor of Lagos State said he was in Niger State to sympathize with the state over its security obstacles and chose to check out the senior statesman to receive his blessings.

He mentioned, “if you restrict my visit to this home that is it. Typically, I came to Niger State to sympathize with the Governor and the people of Niger State. Therefore, I can’t drop in without paying a courtesy call to the enigma General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Retired”.

On whether he got his true blessings, the presidential candidate responded,” he gave me his prayers. You need to know the result of the consultation? We are running a democracy”.

Speaking on his ambition, he mentioned,” I took my choice willingly and I am running for the Presidency of the nation, we are running a democracy, thank you very much and God bless you”.

Senator Tinubu revealed that having stated his intent, he has actually started consultations and is prepared to speak with extensively with pertinent stakeholders throughout the nation.

“When I made the declaration, I told you that I am still consulting and I will seek advice from as commonly as possible,” he even more added.
