Ebonyi Government Threatens To Punish Any Resident That Obeys IPOB’s Sit-At-Home Order

Residents of Ebonyi State have been alerted that they will deal with serious punishment if they follow the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Kanu is arranged to come back in court tomorrow after his case was adjourned today.

IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful had actually announced that a sit-at-home demonstration will be observed in all states in the South-East area on Tuesday January 18, the scheduled date for extension of trial of the proscribed group’s leader.

Responding to the order, Ebonyi federal government directed that all markets and parks in the state should open for organization as failure to do so will draw in “serious punishment”.

Nwachukwu Eze, Ebonyi commissioner for markets and parks stated in a statement;

“All markets and parks managements in Ebonyi are by this statement directed to make sure that markets are open for services on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The state is not in any method part of the sit-at-home order by IPOB. Please note that stringent compliance to this instruction is really crucial as failure to do so will bring in severe penalty.”
