BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu floors Buhari govt in court

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Wednesday beat the Nigerian federal government at the Abia State High Court.

Justice Ben Anya of the High Court sitting in Abia State, declined the Nigerian federal government’s obstacle of its jurisdiction to hear Kanu’s essential rights suit.

Kanu, through his unique counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, had started the essential human rights fit against the Nigerian federal government.

In the fit, Ejimakor had actually prompted the court to state the intrusion of the home of the IPOB leader in Abia State in 2017 as unlawful and an infringement of his constitutional right.

He urged the court to declare his rearrest and torture in Kenya last year as unlawful.

The match, which Ejimakor submitted in August, additional sought the court to stop the Nigerian federal government from prosecuting Kanu, mandating it to launch the IPOB leader and tender an apology to Kanu, to name a few.

But, during today’s procedures, the Nigerian federal government challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the match.

This was revealed by Ejimakor in a tweet.

“Breaking: MNK wins as Abia High Court declines Nigerian federal government’s challenge to its jurisdiction to hear Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s basic rights match. Judgment on other issues still in progress,” Ejimakor composed.
