Masari reopens fuelling stations, livestock markets in Katsina
Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has ordered the immediate resuming of all sustaining stations and livestock markets shut down earlier due to menace of banditry and livestock rustling experienced in the state.
Masari, nevertheless, charged all district and town heads in the impacted locations of the 2 Emirate Councils in the state “to be wary and watchful in order to ensure that no act of connivance by the ‘Sarkin Fawa’ is permitted.”
The order was disclosed in a declaration forwarded to DAILY POST on Saturday by Abdullahi Yar’adua, the Director of Press to the Secretary of the Government of the State SGS, Mustapha Inuwa.
The Katsina Governor worried that his government would not think twice to re-enact the closure where a revival of any suspicious activity is noticed.
Remember that in August 2021, the state federal government in its quote to cut the security threat in the state signed into law the Security Challenges Containment Order” which includes the closure of some sustaining livestock and stations markets in locations suffering from banditry in the state.
