Dave Umahi and Buhari Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has declared interest to contest in the 2023 presidential election.

The governor today met President Muhammadu Buhari to apprise him of his aspiration.

This is coming hardly 24 hours after previous Lagos State guv, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, declared his aspiration to contest for the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Emerging from the president’s workplace at the presidential rental property, Abuja, on Tuesday, he confirmed that he discussed the problem with the president who informed him to look for the assistance and go of individuals.

He stated he was not fazed by Tinubu’s entry into the race as he thinks that the contest is not about might.

Umahi, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC as he thought that the former ruling party was not all set to cede the 2023 ticket to the southeast, stated he stands an opportunity if the APC throws the ticket open.

He said if he gets the chance, his presidency will replicate his effort in Ebonyi state at the nationwide level, saying that he has a lot to show in running governance as a business.
