Only technocrats can save Nigeria from existing obstacles– Ex-Nigerian envoy, Onochie

Dr Nnamdi Onochie, an ex-Nigerian envoy to Algeria and the Philippines and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Dr Orefo Nnamdi Onochie, has harped on the urgent requirement for Nigerians to pick a technocrat instead of politicians to command the affairs

of the nation. Onochie, who in 2015 disclosed his objective to run for president in the 2023 general election, spoke in a press declaration forwarded to DAILY POST on Monday, keeping in mind that part of the current problems of Nigeria is the old orientation of the early older politicians who are utilized to doing things as typical, especially of benefiting in abnormally high quantum for themselves, family and friends at the cost of the public people.

“What is the difference between a politician and a technocrat? Why is it needed to compare the 2 classifications? First, the political leader is the one whose age-long occupation is the occupation of engaging in the art of politics and the governance of a territorial entity. The technocrat is one who has actually gained tremendous knowledge of governance from beyond politics prior to getting into the governance of a territorial entity and is not as immersed and “contaminated” by acts or realities of really early politics. The high need for a technocrat as President in 2023 who is bring or does not have luggage or dirt such as those,” he said.

Onochie further pointed and recalled out that the PDP suffered from such flaws right away after the 2015 elections, being sorry for that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government of Nigeria today has a far even worse track record.

He repeated his promise to put Nigeria on the course of development where the residents would have access to basic features to improve their infrastructural and socio-economic welfare and the country at large.
