ASUU strike: Very shameless– Aisha Yesufu reacts as Minister offers reason for abandoning students

Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu has berated the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, for abandoning students during a conference on Tuesday.

DAILY POST reports that the minister had an impromptu meeting with some members of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, on Tuesday following the sticking around strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The meeting was a follow up to huge demonstrations staged by the trainees throughout the country on Tuesday requiring an end to the perpetual strikes.

According to reports, the minister, however, abandoned the trainees as the conference ended in deadlock. Adamu explained that he stepped out of the meeting since the students laid accusations on him.

He stated, “I left from the unscripted conference with members of NANS today due to the fact that the students were shouting, accusing me of putting the education sector to mess and asking me to step down from workplace.”

Reacting, Aisha Yesufu, in a tweet on her official Twitter handle, backed the trainees, saying the minister has actually failed in all implications.

Her tweet checks out, “Very shameless Minister. An absolute failure in every ramification”.
