Taraba: Kidnappers need N210m ransom for 7 victims

Alhaji Uba, the District Head of Zip in Taraba State, has said that he can not pay for to pay N210 million as ransom to abductors who abducted his child, Buhari, and six other locals of the community.

The District Head’s child, Buhari, and six others were kidnapped in Illela village, Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State about 2 weeks ago.

According to Alhaji Uba, the kidnappers are requiring as ransom N30 million for each of the seven individuals abducted.

He described that he pleaded with the kidnappers when negotiating with them but they insisted that each victim must be paid N30 million prior to they are released.

According to him, “I can not manage half a million Naira not to mention N30 million. Some of the moms and dads of other abducted individuals can not afford even N10,000.”

He discussed that the ring leader abused him severally when he informed him that they can’t manage to pay what he was demanding and even threatened to abduct him from his palace.

The District Head stated that the area is under major threats of terrorists who are all over their domain.

DSP Usman Abdullahi, the representative of the Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the abduction of 11 people, including the child of the traditional ruler of the location.
