Security operatives rescue 7 abducted victims in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command said its tactical operatives and military have actually rescued 7 abducted victims from Chibade village in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.

Attending to newsmen at the command head office in Gusau, the state capital, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Ellkanah, stated the kidnapped victims were rescued during search and rescue operations.

According to him, the victims were saved along Dansadau forest in Maru Local Government Area of the state, guaranteeing that numerous victims that are presently in captivity at various bandits’ enclaves in the state would be saved.

He said, “On February 25, 2022, the tactical operatives of the command in cooperation with the military released along Dansadau axis in Maru Local Government Area of the state have successfully saved 7 kidnapped victims who are locals of Chibade town in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.

“The victims throughout debriefing informed the cops that, on February 21, 2022, outlaws in great deals, stormed their village, Chibade and abducted 7 of them to Dansadau forest of Zamfara State.

“Joint Police and military operatives, while on a collaborated bush clearance around Dansadau axis, successfully rescued the affected victims and brought them to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau where they got medical check.

“All the victims will be turned over to the Commissioner of Police Niger State Police Command for further appropriate action.

“The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, Mr. Ayuba N. Ellkanah, congratulated the victims and their families for regaining their liberty and ensured members of the public of authorities continuous dedication to rid the state of all types of criminal activities.”
