Without Buhari, Nigeria wouldnâ $ t have actually been tranquil â $” Chris Ngige
Sen. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, says without President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership design, the experience of Nigeria would have resembled some nations in extreme crises.
Ngige, for that reason, described leadership as really crucial to the survival of any human society.
He said this after his induction as a Distinguished Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Corporate Governance (INSLEC) on Wednesday in Abuja.
INSLEC is a leading international expert body of both hopeful and present leaders, business owners and people in corporate governance.
Ngige made this known in a statement by Mr Charles Akpan, the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations in the ministry.
He said that Nigeria was travelling through difficult times not due to the fact that of the present federal government however as a result of poor preparation for many years.
According to him, a great leader must be visionary, see things others are not seeing and things that can be projected futuristically and bring them out for execution.
“A great leader should be an execution man; he must be experienced because, after the vision, he will dissect and crystalize them; he ought to be a jack of all trade and master of all.
“He may not score distinction in all however should have the ability to score distinction in numerous.
“He needs to also be brave to carry out tough choices. If you don’t implement courageously, a few of the visions will pass away or will not be executed for the good of all.
“He must also be thoughtful, understanding when to temper justice with grace, to reveal the human part of him.
“He must exude milk of human compassion. Because we have not planned well, I understand that our nation is going through an extremely rough time now. It is not this administration.
“We know we were all dependent on oil. So, when oil prices came crashing and when security concerns arose, disrupting production, we were caught taking a snooze.
“Because of that, we entered into economic crisis. Later, COVID-19 required us to enter into a 2nd economic crisis. We are not yet out of the woods.
“We thank God. I am part of this federal government. I understand that if we don’t have the sort of leader that we have, who is strong like President Muhammadu Bihari, the experience of Nigeria would have been like that of Venezuela,” he stated.
