Nigeria power projects: FG engages guvs over right of way conflict

The Federal Government of Nigeria has actually confirmed engagement with governors to resolve disagreement over right-of-way (ROW).

Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, lamented that the conflict was delaying numerous power jobs across the country.

Aliyu spoke on Friday, when he received the management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) in Abuja.

He announced that the Buhari administration was liaising with the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to guarantee timely completion of tasks.

The minister said the government had been taking a stock of all ROW difficulties for holistic method and resolution.

Aliyu hailed the EKEDC for service shipment, monetary performance, and advised the management to do more on consumer care and confidence.

“President Muhammadu Buhari’s federal government is doing its finest in providing the enabling environment for all sections of the electricity value chain to perform at optimal level”, he guaranteed.

“More than 100 ongoing projects by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will help to tackle theft and guarantee grid stability,” Aliyu included.

EKEDC Chairman, Dere Otubu, prompted the authorities to continue to work towards improved power supply in Nigeria.

Otubu, accompanied by the Managing Director, Fadeyibi Adeoye, charged the federal government to step up the battle against electrical power theft.
