Terrorism: Shehu Sani alerts military as 104 ISWAP fighters surrender

Shehu Sani, previous Kaduna Central Senator, has actually responded as 104 fighters faithful to Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, surrendered to the military in Borno State.

Sani, however, alerted that the armed force should carefully view the surrendered ISWAP fighters.

In a tweet, the socio-political critic said the former ISWAP fighters need to be guided based on previous bitter experiences.

According to Sani: “The report of the surrender of 104 ISWAP fighters and their households in Damboa, Borno State is excellent news.

“However, they should be carefully seen and directed based upon some previous bitter experiences. The efforts of our military in the battle against terrorism is appreciated.”

Military authorities had revealed that the ISWAP fighters and members of their households gave up to the 25 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Damboa, Borno State.

The military stated 22 males, 27 women and 55 kids surrendered, worrying that they took the decisions following consistent soldiers’ operations.

In a post on its main Facebook page, the armed force stated the deadly attacks on the terrorists required the fighters and their families out of their hiding.
