Accept unity, peace for Nigeria’s survival– Group advises youths
The Coalition of Northern Groups(CNG )has interested Nigerian youths to guarantee unity and love grow amongst them for the general interest and future of the nation.
The group encouraged the youths to avoid money politics for nationwide development.
Alhaji Nastura Sharif, Chairman of the group, made the call during the Maitama Sule Leadership Lecture Series held at Bayero University, Kano, on the style, ‘Role of the Youth in Shaping the Future of Northern Nigeria’, organised by the trainees’ wing of the union.
He explained that there was the requirement to inform the youths on the compound of politics for future leaders to discover how to tackle the difficulties bedevilling the nation.
He noted that this is the 18th lecture in the series and the objective behind it is to provide the youths a possibility to learn how to face obstacles politically.
A former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Prof Hafiz Abubakar, also lamented the filthy politics being played by Nigerian political leaders, worrying the need for the youths to alter their frame of mind for the better.
According to Prof. Abubakar, there is the requirement to instill brand-new and accountable concepts in the youth to produce a change in leadership focus without selfishness and corruption.
“The money politics system is awful which is why we are here. We are playing incorrect, ineffective and dirty politics,” he lamented.
He noted that the youth as tomorrow’s leaders must know this due to the fact that they are victims of bad management at all levels, stating that they desire much better leadership on their own and the coming generations.
Prof. Abubakar discussed that each of them must realise this since they are on the wrong course, and have to chart a new course for a much better Nigeria.
The National Coordinator of the students’ wing of the CNG, Jamilu Aliyu, stressed the need for stability and avoidance of money politics, saying that it was the reason they tagged the lecture series with the name of Maitama Sule, who is believed to be a man of integrity and honesty.
He explained that they are trying to eradicate the management of moneybags by avoiding money politics at this level. He added that it has ended up being required, as individuals are currently feeling the wrath of rotten leadership.
