UNILAG reacts to video of ‘abduct attempt’

The University of Lagos(UNILAG)has actually eased worries over an incident on the school.

A viral video flowing on social networks and WhatsApp suggested there was a kidnap attempt.

On Wednesday, the video caused apprehension amongst students, their friends and families.

A news release by UNILAG Communication Unit stated that the story was a rumour and fallacy.

The management said the incident was a case of social misconduct and physical assault between trainees.

“One celebration tried to get away the scene and was nabbed by the security towards the Onike gate axis of the University.

“The case is being managed by the Security Unit and Division of Students Affairs,” the declaration read.

The primary institution ensured that the security and safety of all trainees remained a top priority.

Cops spokesman in Lagos, Adekunle Ajisebutu, likewise confirmed there was no abduct or an attempt.

“It was a case of misconception between a female student and 3 others (one of whom is a UNILAG student).

“It caused an attack on the lady and some of the security guards,” the general public Relations Officer added.
