The animals consisted of over 300 livestock and 100 sheep.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security in the state, Emmanuel Umar who made this known in Minna, said the animals would be in the custody of the state Ministry for Livestock.

He stated the displaced animals were the results of the attacks carried out by security companies against outlaws in the area, where the security company also suffered some casualties recently.

“The late workers family will be taken care of by the federal government and we value their sacrifice to Nigeria,” he stated.

The commissioner discussed that the state federal government would be establishing a committee to come up with methods of determining the real owners of the animals and if otherwise auction them and remit the proceeds to the state treasury.

Umar stated,” the attack on bandits is a constant workout up until the state is rid of all rustlers, kidnappers and other criminal components. We interest the public to support federal government’s effort to rid Niger State of lawbreakers”.
