Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB Gives FG Only Condition To Drop Biafra Agitation

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has revealed the only thing that will persuade it to drop its agitation for a sovereign state of Biafra.

A declaration on Thursday by the IPOB promotion secretary, Emma Powerful mentioned that the only thing that can stop the agitation for Biafra is for the federal government to reveal a date to carry out a referendum.

He specified this as part of the response to Tuesday’s court order from Justice Benson Anya of the Federal High Court in Umuahia which directed the Federal Government and the Nigeria Army to pay N1billion to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The presiding judge ruled that the fine was for attacking the IPOB leader’s home in September 2017.

Justice Anya likewise directed the government and the Army to apologize to Kanu for the violation of his Fundamental Rights and the prohibited invasion of his home.

According to the spokesperson of the separatist group, “The current trump-up charges preferred against our leader Mazi Nnamdi are another indicator that NIGERIA has nothing against him.”

“The finest thing for the Nigerian government and its security is to launch our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU unconditionally and redeem their image across the world because the world is watching what is going on in Nigeria.

“NIGERIA ought to provide us a date for a referendum to ascertain whether our people wish to continue with the so-called One NIGERIA.

“The only thing that can stop the agitation is the date for a referendum on the freedom for the people of Biafra. We will continue to win NIGERIA in every court,” he stated.
