Bandits compose four Zamfara communities, demand N34m

Bandits operating from Gando forest in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State have actually once again written to 4 neighborhoods under Kairu district, requiring the amount of N34 million to shelve organized attacks.

Kairu said that the bandits demanded the amount of N13 million from Kairu community, N5 million from Takalafiya and N8 million each from Kyaram and Katafana neighborhoods.

“The bandits provided a final notice of 30 days in a letter composed and sent to them in a different way within which they should raise the cash or they would release fear attacks on the villages,” he said.

Speaking further, he stated that most of villagers in the Kairu neighborhood have fled to Maga in Kebbi State for security.

“As I am speaking with you now, 85 per cent of our individuals relocated to Maga town in Kebbi state which is more detailed to us as IDPs for their security,” he included.

Kairu explained that the outlaws had actually released 13 various attacks on Kairu town between last December to date when a number of individuals were kidnapped.

Recall that previously this month, the bandits unleashed attacks on eight neighborhoods of Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of the state.

Lawali Kairu appealed to Zamfara State and the Federal Government to release more troops to the location in order to stop the increasing tide of insecurity for peace to flourish.
