The Federal Government had actually submitted a fresh terrorism charge against Kanu, ahead of his resumed trial on Tuesday.

In the changed procedure it submitted before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the federal government increased the counts in the preliminary charge it preferred against Kanu.

The IPOB leader was facing a seven-count treasonable felony charge before Justice Binta Nyako-led Federal High Court.

He will now enter his fresh plea to a 15-count amended charge significant FHC/ABJ/CR/ 383/2015, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.

Responding, Ejimakor said: “The newest modification coming so late on the eve of the trial smacks of dilatory methods.

“Better yet, it is a workout in futility, since it can not get rid of the vested jurisdictional flaws deriving from the amazing performance of Nnamdi Kanu. Ultimately, the charges will not stick”.
