Gwoza Residents Panic As Soldiers Engage ISWAP Fighters In Bloody Battle

Members of the Nigerian military have engaged terrorists coming from the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a strong battle, with lots of locals of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State sent into panic.

According to DailyPost, the military fired 40-barrel artillery gun in the town in a quote to defeat the terrorists.

The incident occurred late Thursday night.

Asked about the rumour of attack on the Police Training School in Limankara, the officer, who did not wish to be named, stated he was not aware of such incident as Limankara is on the borders of Gwoza town.

DAILY POST could not reach the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sani Mohammed, for comments as messages and calls to his telephone were not solutioned to verify or dispel the reported abduction of some police officers currently said to be participated in training at the Gwoza Hills Training School in the state.

Security reports filtering around Biu Local Government Area of Borno State revealed that ISWAP elements were seen collected along Maiduguri, Damboa road in the southern part of the state with a goal to perhaps launch an attack on some villages and Biu municipality.
