Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday quickly ended the state’s 2022 Interfaith prayer service over the news of Alao Akala’s death.

The prayer session was arranged by the Oyo State Civil Service to mark the beginning of the year 2022.

Makinde, however, ended the prayer session abruptly when he got the news of the death of the former Governor.

Alao-Akala was the Governor of the state between 2007 and 2011.

The previous Governor passed away at the age of 71 in his home town, Ogbomoso.

Makinde, who required a minute silence for the former Governor, prayed to God to approve repose to his soul.

He condoled with the immediate relative of the previous Governor, his political associates and all homeowners of the State.

“I am here with the speech gotten ready for this event however I have actually just been notified about the death of previous Governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo-Akala.

“I hope that God grant his enjoyed ones and all his well-wishers the fortitude to bear the permanent loss”.
