A team of security representatives comprising Nigerian soldiers and police officers are feared dead in Kebbi State.

The operatives lost their lives in a gun battle with numerous bandits, PRNigeria reports.

Residents stated they passed away while repelling an attack by the hooligans at Kanya village.

The incident happened 24 hours after outlaws eliminated lots of vigilantes in an ambush near Sakaba on Monday.

An intelligence source in Kebbi confirmed that security forces engaged the enemies for hours.

“There was heavy casualties on both sides,” the officer revealed.

Injured security workers are receiving treatment at a medical facility in the state.
