Bandits have assaulted Yar Tsakuwa town, in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, kidnapping 9 individuals, including the serving councillor of the area, Lawali Bello.

According to DailyTrust, two spouses and a daughter of the previous councillor of the area, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba, were amongst those abducted.

A citizen, Nazifi Abdullahi, reported that the bandits occurred midnight on Saturday and operated till 2:50 am.

They stormed and ransacked stores and houses, took several motorcycles, food things and drugs.

“They abducted over 20 individuals however returned others, 9 individuals are sti with them, including our serving councillor and wives and child of our former councillor,” the resident told DailyTrust.

Abdullahi reported that the outlaws shot and hurt one person, who is getting treatment at the Talata Mafara General Hospital in Zamfara State.
