Oluwo Didn’t Demand N20m From Oyetola To Wed Kano Princess– Palace Makes Clarification
Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, on Friday, denied composing Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, to obtain support for a proposed wedding event in Kano State.
A letter had gone viral on the web where the royal father purportedly got money for the Kano wedding event.
The letter dated February 8, 2022, resolved to the Oyetola was gotten on behalf of guv by the workplace of Special Adviser to the governor on Chieftaincy Affairs.
The letter checked out in parts, “I have the instruction of the His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo to notify you of Oluwo’s decision to wed a princess from Kano Emirate to be exact Ado Bayero Dynasty.
“I wish to advise your Excellency that this sort of royal wedding event within two notable traditional organizations in Nigeria will need substantial costs, which necessitate support of the state federal government financially even logistically.”
When called, Press Secretary to Oluwo, Alli Ibraheem, stated the palace did not author any letter.
He said, “We didn’t author any letter. The letterhead you saw is not the one used by Oluwo. Moreso, if Baba will compose government, it will carry his signature.”
Oluwo’s marriage to his Jamaican partner, Ms Chanel Chin, had actually crashed in December 2019.
