Nigerian defender, Ola Aina, has stated it was “sad”to see the team lose their clean sheet against Sudan. The Super Eagles were 3 goals up, when Aina distributed a charge in the second half.

Initially, the event was not gotten by the referee, but it was later awarded following a VAR evaluation.

“Yea, we distributed the tidy sheet.

“It’s sad for the team, the defence, and it’s unfortunate for Madu due to the fact that he’s been keeping clean sheets,” Aina informed the Super Eagles media team.

Aina confessed he was at fault, however insisted he was taking a look at the ball and not the player.

“What happened was I was not taking a look at the player. Undoubtedly, I held his t-shirt a little bit, but there’s constantly a bit of t-shirt holding in the box, and I was simply enjoying the ball.

“I didn’t see when I stepped on his foot,” he added.
