Man burns inside masquerade costume while pulling stunt during Anambra celebration

An unidentified man has burnt to death in a masquerade outfit in Anambra State, while trying to pull a stunt.

DAILY POST gathered that the occurrence occurred at Ogbunike, during the Eli’m Ede’ Cultural Festival, which was held on Saturday.

The festival is an annual occasion, where masquerades of numerous sizes and shapes collect at the village square to amuse indigenes.

An eyewitness stated the masquerade attendants while leading the masquerade to Amawa square, had actually pulled a fire stunt in front of the masquerade, which was sitting on the ground, however instantly extinguished it.

“Unknown to the attendants, the fire had actually gone into the raffia costume used by the masquerade, and prior to they could put it off, it spread out all over the body of the masquerade, triggering the man serious burns,” he said.
