Man exposes why cultists interrupted competitor’s funeral service in Anambra

A social media user, Godwin Okpala has actually described why about 20 persons in the Ebenebe community of Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, were killed at the funeral of a believed cultist.

Persons presumed to be members of a competing cult group had invaded the burial location of Ozor Chibuike Chukwuka, a 34-year-old cultist, distributing mourners, while eliminating about 20 individuals.

Okpala, who declares to come from the exact same community as Chukwuka, in a social media post said the notorious cultist was eliminated on 30th December 2021 at Amansea.

He said the rival cult which killed Ozor had alerted his member of the family not to organize a befitting burial for him as he was not worthwhile of it, instead he ought to be buried as a no one.

He also stated that Ozor was a well-known cultist who had severally led attacks on the police and its centers and was extremely feared throughout his lifetime.

The post by Okpala said: “This is the man, Ozor Chibuike Chukwuka, that brought about the killing of over 20 individuals in his burial.

“He is from my town. He belonged to a strong cult, he was feared by all, and very hazardous. He was even among those that led gangs to kiII police, burn their stations and cart their weapons away.

“Many of our people were hailing him, then later on he died by the sword, he was shot dead in December, and his rival gangs alerted that he must not be offered an appropriate burial. They warned that if they do, lots of heads will fall, and it did fall.

“They (rival cult) performed their risk. And now numerous innocent individuals that understood absolutely nothing were amongst the dead. My own cousin was amongst the dead. Very bad day in Ebenebe.”

The Anambra State Police Command stated it has deployed men of the command in different tactical systems to Ebenebe to protect the individuals, there is no news of any arrest yet.

When DAILY POST asked from the representative of the command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, on the most recent in the matter, he assured to reach men of the command in the area for information, before returning to our reporter.

As of the time of filing this report, he was yet to provide any information.
