How outcomes of previous NIES top yielded crucial development in Nigeria â $” FG

The Federal Government has exposed that results from previous editions of the Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES) have been embraced and utilised by the federal government, policymakers and oil and gas market to impact development in the country.

Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, mentioned this on Thursday night in Abuja, while instruction newsmen on the forthcoming 5th edition of NIES 2022.

The summit themed “Revitalising the Industry: Future Fuels and Energy Transition” is set up to be held in Abuja from Feb. 27 to March 3.

“The United States Trade Development Agency (USTDA) signed a phenomenal offer to fund the development of 1.35 megawatts power plant here in Abuja with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at the summit.

“Key indigenous and global business like Shell Petroleum and Development Company Limited, Total Exploration and Production, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited, Dangote Refinery, Waltersmith Petroman and others utilized the summit platform to drive their goals and launch major tasks.

“The Senate President and Speaker of your house of Representatives made conclusive statements on the passage of the PIB at this summit,” he stated.

He stated the summit was focused on driving a brand-new story and making energy transition the foundation of the country’s industry policy.

According to him, the summit is to provide the biggest and finest African Petroleum Technology and Business Conference that will be the conclusive platform, not just for Nigeria, but also for Africa to engage the worldwide energy neighborhood.

On this note, he disclosed that over 5,000 participants from about 53 nations were expected at the summit which would feature plenary sessions Award/Gala Dinner and Memorandum of Understanding finalizings, to name a few.
