Oyedeji Temitope Victor has become University of Ibadan’s best graduating trainee in the Department of Mathematics with a CGPA of 3.87/ 4.00.

While remembering how the journey to academic fame started, Temitope stated: “When I came into the University of Ibadan 2017, that was the very same year my sibling Oyedeji Timilehin finished from the University of Ilorin.
“He finished top of his class and in the faculty and that was the very first and among the crucial motivations that I had. Due to the fact that it looked rather difficult to me, I remembered my daddy telling me I should beat his grades and records and I was laughing to myself. It motivated me to always be the best. Thank God I did.
“Aside from being a focused trainee, I was actively involved in the Department and professors’s football group. I taught pre-university and 100 level tutorials.
“One of my greatest obstacles as a trainee was being a student. Enduring the standard lectures was often difficult.
“My body and mind were constantly going, and I could not wait to leave my seat, move, share my thoughts, and interact with my peers. I handled it by focusing all my energy on my listening and note-taking.
“In my very first year, it wasn’t really easy to adjust to the new environment and there were lots of intimidations everywhere. In the subsequent years, the volume of work, time management and attempting to stabilize all was challenging.”
Discussing other things that prepared him for the exceptional performance, he said: “I understood what works for me. I don’t truly invest lots of hours reading since I will get sidetracked.
“I only need to get the idea of the course/material and I have simply little work to do afterwards. The crucial thing was that I was able to stabilize everything. I made certain that I have to do with 95% pleased prior to going for any exam or test.
