EFCC, NYSC sign contract to fight corruption, economic crimes

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC )and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday.

This formalizes the existing partnership in between the companies for the fight against corruption and economic criminal offenses in Nigeria.

NYSC Director-General, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim and EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa satisfied at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Bawa said the document would act as a guide on what the firms would be doing from time to time.

“NYSC has belonged to us from the beginning. We have actually constantly had the opportunity of inviting corps members to help us where we have spaces in our staff,” he said.

The policeman said though the sensitivity of EFCC jobs needed skilled officers, corps members contribute to its successes.

Bawa, nevertheless, hinted that the One Million Man March suspended due to COVID-19 would be re-planned.

The DG said NYSC/EFCC Community Development Service (CDS) has been sensitizing for the EFCC and the battle against corruption.

“Corps members are ever willing as they continue to put in their finest in that regard”, he included.

Shuaibu charged the EFCC to capture scammers obtaining Nigerians through the social media to affect their publishing, redeployment or moving.
