Why Buhari listened to Amaechi on new NPA visit

The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari authorized the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko due to the fact that he came extremely suggested by the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the President, Garba Shehu, said that Amaechi was able to encourage the President by citing a number of reasons, among which is the revenue performance of the NPA under Koko.

DAILY POST reported that Buhari selected Bello-Koko as substantive Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director, on Tuesday.

The announcement confirmed the sacking of suspended MD, Hadiza Usman.

“Upon the extremely strong recommendation of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, President Muhammadu Buhari, today Tuesday approved the consultation of Mr. Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

“In canvassing for the appointee, the Minister mentioned numerous factors, amongst which is the profits performance of the NPA under Mr. Koko,” Shehu tweeted.
