Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams has informed of plans targeted at bringing down the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).

Adams stated that the socio-cultural company remained the most persecuted in Nigeria considering that its creation in 1994.

At the 2022 Thanksgiving Service in Lagos, he kept in mind that the OPC had weathered the storm and difficulties from its fold and exterior.

The high chief accused “powerful establishments” in the South-West of trying hard to “destroy” the group.

Adams, nevertheless, thanked God for the journey of almost 3 decades, recalling that a number of OPC members lost their lives.

On Nigeria, he said the country possessed the capacities, both human and material resources, to be among the most powerful worldwide.

“The leaders drifted through continued neglect of tradition. OPC has distinguished itself as the only socio-cultural company that commemorates God with different occasions.”

Adams listed Eledumare festival, Oodua festival and others developed to promote the cultural identity of Yoruba race.

Speaking, Osi Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief Gani Balogun restated the need to promote unity and peace.

“I make sure history will respect the OPC as an organization that waited the Yoruba race, battled and still fighting to make sure that the Yoruba stand above others”, Balogun stated.
