Nigerian Tribune reports that a Magistrate court sitting in Akure has actually bought the remand of a 49- year-old General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church, Prophetess Serah Abuloye, over the murder of a member of her church.

Abuloye who was dragged prior to the Court over her participation and situations causing the death of one Adefunke Aselogbon, whose body was discarded at the back of the church.

Abuloye, the creator of All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke in Ifedore local government area of the state, was stated to have actually eliminated 37-year-old Aselogbon, in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.

The Police Prosecutor, Obalasa Ajiboye, informed the court that the defendant committed the offense at about 4.00 am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke in the Ondo State Magisterial District.

The charge sheet checked out in part, “That you, Serah Abuloye, did conspire to commit a felony, to wit: murder and consequently committed an offense, contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

“That you, Serah Abuloye and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did kill and discard one Adefunke Aselogbon, aged 37, in a bush at the back of your church and thus committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 319( 1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”

The plea of the accused was not taken.

Obalasa, for that reason made an oral application to remand the defendant in prison custody pending the result of suggestions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

He stated the body of the deceased has been transferred at the mortuary.

Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire, did not oppose the district attorney’s application.

In his judgment, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni bought the remand of the accused in authorities custody and adjourned the case till February 18, 2022, for ruling on remand application.
