AFCON 2021: Queiroz, Salah respond as Egypt remove Morocco, receive semi-final

Egypt coach, Carlos Queiroz and captain, Mohamed Salah, have reacted to their side’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final 2-1 win over Morocco. Egypt defeated Morocco on Sunday, thanks to two goals from Salah and Trezeguet.

The win over Morocco implies Egypt are now in the AFCON semi-final phase.

Egypt will now deal with the host country, Cameroon, in the AFCON semi-final component on Thursday.

Responding after the video game, Queiroz stated at his post-match interview that he was pleased with the efficiency of his players, including that they fought together against Morocco.

Salah, meanwhile, said that the Pharaohs played a good game against their North African equivalent.

Queiroz said, “Both teams deserved to get approved for the semi-finals with fantastic gamers on both sides. I am pleased with the efficiency of my players. We have a good group with gamers who combat together in all compartments. Mohamed Salah had a good match today, however for me, we need to congratulate the entire team. We have numerous injured players, but all the players gave their best to win this match.”

On his part, Salah stated, “I believe we played a great video game against a very good Moroccan group. My colleagues do what is essential in each video game and give everything to reach possible. Playing two video games in a row with additional time is hard, but I can inform you that we are well and we are having a very good competition.”
