2023: Do not damage opposition candidates’ posters– Bauchi Gov alerts fans
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Saturday warned his advocates against tearing posters and banners of opposition prospects, ahead of the 2023 basic election.
The guv gave the caution at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders meeting held at the Government House in Bauchi.
Mohammed said his administration would not encourage PDP fans to engage in the destruction of opposition’s banners and posters.
He said rather of encouraging any acts of damage, his political style would be to motivate members of the opposition celebrations to sign up with the ruling PDP, claiming his administration had landmark accomplishments to display for all to see.
“I wish to utilize this stakeholders meeting to encourage my advocates not to participate in ruining posters and banners of other candidates especially those from the opposition parties,” the guv stated.
He stated with the support of PDP stakeholders, his administration had the ability to make huge strides in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, women and youth empowerment, among others.
“I enjoy with the unity that is existing amongst the leaders and members of our PDP party in Bauchi State and I enjoy to say that with your assistance, we have made giant strides in the sectors of infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, ladies and youth empowerment, among others,” the governor was quoted by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Muktar Gidado, to have said at the meeting.
Governor Mohammed even more informed the PDP stakeholders that a person of the legacies of his administration was the conduct of city government elections in the state after more than a decade of no election at that level in the state.
He then expressed gratitude to the city government chairmen for their efficiency, particularly in the location of empowering people at the grassroots.
While declaring that he has no preferred candidates, the guv, gotten in touch with party members not to utilize their political ambitions to trigger rancour in the PDP in the state, advising them to rather work for the success of the party in the 2023 elections.
“I wish to notify all the aspirants of different elected offices that I have no favored candidate. I will support the party to guarantee justice in the procedure of our main election,” he said.
Also speaking, the state PDP Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, said the stakeholders conference was to examine the celebration and discuss’s strategy and activities ahead of the forthcoming basic elections.
Akuyam assured members of a level playing ground for everybody to contest for numerous political offices.
